Orlando
A visit to Orlando is central to a variety of vacation opportunities.
Less than 60 miles northeast is Daytona Beach. This world famous, 23 mile beach can still be driven on with cars, rental vehicles and motorcycles. Enjoy the panoramic views of blue green water and white sand.
Cocoa Beach is a great place to escape the tourist crowds. Cocoa Beach is sixty miles east of Orlando on the Atlantic Ocean and only a
50 minute drive from the theme parks. It’s a wonderful break from
standing in lines and has plenty of space to take a breather from the crowds. It’s a nice local beach where the kids will have fun shelling and it’s free. Only a $3.00 toll from Orlando to get there. It is
very close to Kennedy so it could be made into a whole day trip.
There are numerous attractions along the beach for the tourist. Fresh seafood is available in the numerous restaurants. The salty ocean air will invigorate you.
And lets not forget New Smyrna Beach. Small and uncrowded with lots to offer. A great beach in the south part of town where you don’t have to dodge cars while playing frisbee. If you decide to take a dip you can rinse off under the outdoor shower rather than ride home with that salty, sandy feel.
You can drive in Orlando and go west to Clearwater Beach. Well known in Florida’s Beach community, its white sandy shore of the Gulf of Mexico is home of Pier 60. On the beach there are deep sea fishing charters, dinner, adventure cruises, luxury hotels, condominiums and local restaurants.
Rent a beach umbrella, give the kids boogie boards and beach toys and you are set for the day. Slather on some sunscreen and read a good book. In the evening you’ll find artisans, entertainment, and street performers. Then in the cool evening gulf breezes as you walk along the shoreline watch the sun, that big red-orange ball of fire, descend on the horizon into the Gulf of Mexico.
