In 1955, Tennessee born developer Leland L. (Doc) Loach had dreams of creating a hideaway fishing retreat. As the guiding force he dredged canals and built a water processing plant. Finally he created a road which connected his island paradise to the Bays, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Ten Thousand Islands. At last Loach realized his dream of a nature lover’s paradise, Isles of Capri, his pride and joy.
